In Roulette, the house
doesn't have as high of an edge as in many other
games. In a single zero or European game, the
edge is only 2.7%. In a double zero or
American game, it is 5.26% which is still amazingly
in favor of the player.
There are many rules that vary by
casino but that you should be on the look out for
such as the En Prison rule. This applies when
zero is the outcome. When this happens, some
casinos will let the player take back half of their
bet or leave the bet for one more spin and if zero
comes up again the whole bet is lost. Another
such rule in Roulette to be aware of is
called the La Partage Rule. This rule is very
similar to the En Prison rule with the exception
that the player loses half of their bet and doesn't
have the choice to leave the bet for another round
of play.
The payouts for Roulette
are simple and are as follows:

Roulette is simple, some say the math behind it is
easy too. Every single spin has the exact same
chance of showing any given number, no matter the
outcome of the last 1 or 1000 spins. You must
look at each and every spin as and individual game,
so nothing past has an effect on what happens that
game. There are several things to remember
when playing Roulette some people think that
you should always play the five number bet, but the
statistically best thing to do is to never play that
bet. Another tip is to take notice of is that all
bets on the table are equal, so you should know that
it is up to you as to how you want to play the table
and how you want to bet.
One common thing that occurs in
both online and land based casinos is people
watching and keeping track of numbers that come up
in previous games. Some casinos also have the
numbers posted so that players can see what order
they came up in. This is a theory that goes
around in the gambling community because of the law
of chance. It says that numbers will always
average out in the long run, so people continue to
bet on the same numbers because they truly believe
that the numbers will come up. Eventually they
will but how much money will be lost while you are
waiting for that number to come up. So the
best advice is to know that this theory is untrue
and completely avoid it. There are a lot of
things that you can do to win while playing
Roulette but it all comes down to predicting
where the ball will land after the wheel spins.
Many people think that this is easy but the truth is
unless you are psychic, this not easy. Many
roulette players have gone broke thinking it is
easy. In reality, luck is a major part of this
game just as in any other game of chance.
Remember that it is ok to bet on
your anniversary, birthday or lucky number in
Roulette but that doesn't necessarily mean that
they will win more often. And don't fall into
the trap that keeps you betting on them because you
think that they have to come up sooner or later or
you could leave with no bankroll at all. Some
players think that if they bet on several numbers,
that it will raise their chances of winning.
That is both true and untrue. Yes the ball
will probably land on their numbers but the payout
will be less because there is usually less wagered
on several numbers.
When it all comes down to it,
there are some certain things to remember and to
watch out for. First make sure that you know
the difference between American and European
Roulette and that you know which one you are
playing because there is a difference. Don't
fall into theories about playing or traps that say
do things one certain way because you could end up
broke. There is no such thing as hot numbers,
so don't bet on them and them alone all night
because you think they are bound to appear again.
Finally be wise with your money and how you wager
it. If you think that you are losing to much
money, stop or take a break for a while and walk
away. The game will always be there when you
return.
